CalPERS Wins Class Status In NYSE Suit

(CalPERS), The California Public Employees’ Retirement System was granted class status for its lawsuit against the New York Stock Exchange and seven specialist firms.

The lawsuit, filed in 2003 in U.S. District Court in New York, alleges that executives of the NYSE and the specialist firms made trades on their own accounts before their customers, which resulted in lower prices for their customers.
