EXPERIENCED FAMILY LAWYER
I have been continuously practicing law in Cincinnati, Ohio since 1973 and now have 30 years experience concentrated in family law. My experience in Domestic Relations Court, and knowledge of court procedures and personnel, is very helpful in assessing the parameters and likely outcomes of family law matters, which is important in giving reliable legal advice to my clients. I regularly practice in Hamilton, Butler and Clermont Counties. My experience and training enable me to represent my family law clients in whatever manner best meets their needs.
I am mindful always that terminating a marriage or contesting post decree matters such as child support and parenting issues can be very traumatic. Making informed decisions as to when to litigate and contest issues, or when to settle and amicably resolve issues, is critical to achieving a good result. This is where experience is most valuable.
LEGAL ADVICE: DIVORCE OR DISSOLUTION?
Ohio provides two primary methods to terminate a marriage. (Annulment is a third method, but rarely used). The preferred solution is a Dissolution, in which the parties agree on all issues, including property division, payment of marital debts, parenting time (custody and visitation), child support, spousal support (alimony), and tax liabilities.
I am also a trained Collaborative lawyer and I offer legal services using this method. If successful, use of the Collaborative Method results in a Dissolution of Marriage. Collaborative law allows the parties to play a more prominent role in resolving their disputes in open-forum discussions and meetings with both parties and legal counsel present.
